The leaves are changing, it’s cold and crisp outside, which means fall is officially here!! It’s my favorite time of year – sweater season! I love soft cozy knits but don’t love how much they cost. Nothing is worse than buying a sweater that is cute but every time you put it on it feels cheap and itchy. But comfort doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice quality and style.
Here are all my top sweater trends of the season for under $150, and how to style them. Shop the post at the bottom of the article!
Mock Neck Sweater
The mock neck is a great update to a turtleneck and I love how effortlessly cool it feels. For extra polish, tuck it in and add a belt.
There is something so timeless about a sleeveless sweater. Everything about it screams chic French girl! This is a must have layering piece you’ll be happy you have for those unseasonably warm fall days.
Balloon Sleeve Sweater
This past summer we saw balloon sleeves conquer just about every sleeved piece out there. Now adding them to your fall favorite sweater, transforming the simplest knits into fashion forward staples.
90’s have made a comeback and are here to stay through fall with this chenille fabric. It’s seriously the softest thing you will ever put on and you won’t ever want to take it off!
Short Sleeve Sweater
This piece will last you from fall all the way through spring. The short sleeve, color and texture are very versatile and makes for a great sweater to layer under a suit for warm office days and meetings.
Ruffles, ruffles, ruffles!! It seems everything has a ruffle on it these days, and sweaters are no exception. Pick a sweater that has a more understated ruffle so it will last even after this trend is over.
A cashmere sweater is one of the best additions you can make to your closet this fall. Since cashmere is one of the most premium fibers on the market this usually means expensive. Not anymore! With companies sourcing their own yarn they are able to get exceptional quality at an exceptional price.
Off the Shoulder
Off the shoulder tops feel like an overnight sensation, suddenly they’re everywhere. But their virility makes sense. They’re a good swap for your typical sweater, and they’re sexy in a subtle kind of way.
Tie Cuff Sweater
The tie around the wrist gives this sweater a fashionable, playful element to an otherwise basic sweater. Pair with a pant, loafer and leopard print bag, and you can run around all day being comfy but also uber stylish!
A sweater dress is a great way to be warm and comfy but still sexy. This is a go to date night dress and layer with a blazer, tights and boots for chilly fall nights. Throw in a small cross body bag and you are good to go!
