From music to flowers, photography to traveling, I find inspiration in life around us. I have a BA in Fashion Merchandising, which has led to the amazing opportunities I have been given to date. In terms of writing, I have had the pleasure to create piece for style/lifestyle publications such as Ocean Drive Magazine, Miami Shoot Magazine and Midtown Miami Magazine, as well as more fashion-driven startups like MAG READY and College Fashionista. Through this, I found a sense of eloquence in relaying my message to readers with a limited amount of words. I have also participated in the production of fashion shows and photoshoots, allowing me to gain a broader perspective as to the work that goes behind a 10 minute show or a 5-photo spread. Recently, I have spent more time developing my business skills by working as a Procurement/Purchasing Specialist for an interior design firm. Though fashion and interior design are two separate industries, it is amazing to see the correlation between the two and how one affects the other day in and day out. Marketing has also played a role in my career development, leading to my pursuit of a Masters in Marketing this Fall. To put it simply, I discovered the only way to be at my best was to be surrounded by creativity at all times. Whether it’s at my daytime job working in Purchasing/Marketing for an interior design firm, at home handcrafting jewelry for my own startup, freelancing for fashion publications, or just in life networking with fellow millennials trying to succeed, I always find myself creating something. The one thing that inspires and fuels me the most, however, would have to be the empowerment of women. I strongly support the movement in making strides towards developing a world filled with strong, fulfilled, powerful women, and raising our children to support that, as well. Through my writing and my jewelry, I aspire to empower those around me, and those who I can not see – but can feel – as well. I look forward to sharing my tidbits on fashion and hopefully empower you to become the woman you know you could be. This simple dessert/sweet snack is definitely a winner with adults and kids alike, what’s even better is that it’s dairy free, gluten free and free of of processed sugar. This recipe can be made with or without the decaf coffee though with it adds a lovely richness and overall it’s only a small amount.
