THE WARRIOR PRINCESS

Every year we see a series of beauty trends. Whether it’s a bold statement lip or dewy skin, we see them repeated on the runways, magazines or on the street. I’ve put together a series of hair and makeup looks from this year and my take on them. Below is a “how to” executed by my incredible hair and makeup team. Revlon Makeup Director Melanie Burnicle and Matrix ambassador Lores Giglio. The photography was taken by the insanely talented Carlo Fernandes.

MAKEUP

How to:

Brows: Create shape using Revlon Brow Fantasy in Brunette. Make sure your pencil is super sharp and go to town when filling them in, creating a shape that works with your eye shape.

Eye-line: Apply eyeliner (we used Revlon ColorStay Creme Gel in Black) using a soft fine pointed brush. Get your furthest point by looking into the mirror and working out your line. Place a dot and lightly start to create the line back in towards the eye. Work the eye-line across the top lash-line into the inner corner of the eye. Use a Skinny liquid liner (we used Revlon ColorStay in Mahogany) and create a fine line under the lower lash-line. Load top and bottom lashes with mascara, then add false lashes. (we used Revlon super length and  Revlon volumize lashes in V25)

Lips: We used the Revlon PhotoReady Kajal Matte eye pencil in Matte Lemon.

Cheeks: Bronzer (we used Revlon Sun Glow)

HAIR

How to:

Step 1 – Wash hair with Matrix Smoothproof to help prepare to smooth and close the cuticles as much as possible to help once you begin to slick the hair.

Step 2 – Pony Tails – 4x slick pony tails down the middle of the head using Matrix Super Fixer Gel and Matrix Smooth Setter mixed together in a bowl and applying with a tint brush.

Step 3 – Braiding – Starting from the top plaiting the hair, joining and adding the hair as you go along until you reach the end. Spraying Matrix Style Fixer to complete the look for extra hold.

Session Tip – Wrap electrical tape around each pony tail to add height and to give it a modern edge.
