Switch to skincare that works and is not poisoning you.

You do know you are poisoning yourself, right? And no I don’t mean from the places you are already aware – the chemicals in your food, the toxins in your environment, I’m talking about something that we use everyday that we don’t even think twice about. Your skincare, your makeup, your body lotions, your shampoos, you are poisoning yourself. It’s so easy in this day and age to not want to be educated on these subjects because we think why would products that everyone uses everyday be something that we need to worry about? Well, guess what? we are all getting sicker and sicker and I think a lot has to do with what we are putting on our skin. Your skin is the largest organ of your body. If you would never ingest things like benzophenone or coal tar or lead, or heavy metals or petroleum or parabens, if you would never ingest this then why would you put it on your body? I’m not here to scare you. But here is just a little bit of information for you.

Parabens found in cleansers, scrubs, lotions, are endocrine disrupters. They also have been linked to cancer, developmental and reproductive toxicity, to name a few things.I promise you parabens are in so many things that you use. Let’s talk lead? Lead is found in a variety of products that a person uses everyday. Lip products, concealer, foundations, eye shadows. Lead are heavy metals that have serious negative effects on the body. Lead is well known and a proven neurotoxin that has been linked to learning, language, and behavioral problems. Mercury, also found in other cosmetic products, is linked to nervous system toxicity, reproductive, immune and respiratory toxicity. Can you believe this is in so much of what you use every day?

Did you know there are over 80,000 chemicals out there in the market that aren’t tested for safety? I know I don’t want to be the lab rat. If you would like to educate yourself more on what is in our products there is a great documentary called, The Human Experiment. Don’t be blind on what is out there. It is extremely unfair what is being put in our every day used products that we don’t even think twice about.

Another great book to read if you want to be educated on these matters is, The Skin Cleanse, by Adina Grigore, a skin care expert who comes with a comprehensive guide to switching to natural skin care regimes.

Don’t get me wrong, I was 100% the person who was buying every glossy campaign driven must-have makeup and skin care lines. But I had my daughter and I spent six months before she was born making sure that I would have nothing toxic in her environment. And then I thought, what about me? I would put natural coconut oil on her but yet all of these chemicals on my body using commercial body lotions so I knew I had to change. I had enough information to know that I didn’t want to keep poisoning myself.

My journey has been a year long road of a learning discovery and I’m here to help. Below I am listing products that I 100% use every day. They have changed my skin, my conscious, and I honestly feel better. Not only what I’m doing for myself, but also for the environment. I really want to help people find great, toxic free makeup and skin care and hair and body products. So I’m going to do a list of posts in categories talking about products you can switch too.
